asheville is a rather small city. charlotte is a medium city. atlanta is a large city.
February 8th, 2009 at 9:18 pm
asheville can be a great place. i don’t know it is conveyed in any way by this video. asheville has real problems too, including city council members who have broken the law publicly w/no repercussions. there is a rather distinct economic dichotomy which is glaring.

asheville small….agreed.
Charlotte…650,000+ population….NOT a medium-sized city by any stretch. Oh, and bigger than Atlanta in both size and population.
February 9th, 2009 at 12:04 pm
in terms of metropolitan pop. atlanta is nearly 3x as large. you are correct about core population, and so you are right. if not medium sized, what would you call it? philly, nyc, la, chicago, etc are large and charlotte is not in that catagory. maybe that is just semantics. according to wikipedia, charlotte is 21 largest city.

Hey, you’re right about what you said. Just stating the facts about specific CITIES-which is what the original comment said. Not metro areas. Small city…50,000-100,000 medium…..100,000-250,000. large….250,000+
February 13th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
yes, you were right. i was justifying why i consider atlanta a larger city. for example, i wouldn’t consider Concord part of Charlotte (people say it is part of metro area, but you know you’ve left clt), but do consider anything inside 285 to be atlanta. i grew up near NYC, so anything smaller than Philly or Chicago i think of as medium or small. incorrect, no doubt.

kenfo, I just moved here and I like it alot. Like you said, it has some problems but I think there’s many positives here as well and the video doesn’t do them all justice.

I love visiting Asheville! If you go there, make sure to eat at the Early Girl Eatery and Salsa’s!! Two awesome restaurants!! I like the atmosphere of Asheville and I like how the town keeps everything local.

I love how “locals” always try to scare off transplants and tourists when they are usualy transplants themselves. Plus they now all depend on these people. I’ve lived in Maui and now Breckenridge, two very touristy spots and it makes me laugh how people bitch about them when they are there then panic when they aren’t. Grow up and share the beauty of your home wherever it is. Poor taste development and architecture happens nationwide. PS…I’m moving to Asheville soon…look out “locals!”

Oh hell yeah!Maybe the 2nd or 3rd largest gay community in the United States!Do you know where Im talking about?Take a guess?….Atlanta(I actually live in athens which is one hour away from there).

I was born here. is that local enough. I don’t depend on tourist for shyte. you ruin our politics, and vacation homes raise the tax value of family’s that have been here for genreations who are then forced out . it’s not poor taste to try and preserve your local heritage. these videos show an extremely small segment of ashevegas. please stop coming here . I”m sure the leaves change color wherever you live/
