MTT- Tchaikovsky Symphony No.4, 4th mvmt
Michael Tilson Thomas conducting the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in a very high-powered 4th movement of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 in F minor. Compare this with Barenboim’s version also on my channel, and you’ll see two excellent performances, similarly high energy levels, but very different styles of conducting.

ha, yeah, that was hardcore

At 1:08, it feels like it slows down. I don’t know whether Tchaikovsky intended it that way or not, but Barenboim’s version doesn’t have that feeling.

You know Tchaikovsky’s gonna be popular in San Francisco. Superlative work, though, and superlative performance.

Dvorak is awesome for writing the new world symphony.
(I’m pretty sure that’s his 9th symphony…xD)

I agree, but I think it sounds a LOT better that way. Maybe it’s just me
I love it though, you can savor the tuba/bass trombone sound more haha. But really the low brass sound is phenomenal, no less.

Well of course it is! It’s the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra no less. I agree with your comment but have no preference between this and the other video. I was just sayin’ . . .
